QB Never Do #3

Always use the internal, QB Backup procedure to make backups of your file. Even if you have some other system to make backups of your hard drive, the internal QB Backup procedure must be used periodically. There are certain, internal processes that must be performed regularly, and the only way to do them is to use the QB Backup procedure. If these processes are not performed, your file will begin to run more and more slowly.

Making backups is easy. If you don't know how, open QB, find a QB search box, and do a search for the word backup. The instructions vary slightly, depending on the year of QB you use, otherwise I would put them here.

Ok, so this wasn't exactly a Never-Do. But it still counts, doesn't it? ;-)

Be sure that when you backup quickbooks you supplement the backup of the .qbb file with full file system backups. I had to restore my .qbb backup to a new computer, but my loan manager setup was not there. Loan manager files are not included in the .qbb backup. I did a writeup on how I restored the loan manager files at:
